Bremer Criticizes Lack of Troops

Ambassador L. Paul Bremer, leader of the US-formed occupation government of Iraq, has criticized the lack of forces deployed post-invasion. "We never had enough troops on the ground," he said in a speech at DePauw University in mid-September. Why are we only hearing these words now? The speeches were supposed to be "private" and "off the record."
