Bush: "Political Capital"

Friday November 5, 2004
The President declared Thursday: "Let me put it to you this way: I earned capital in the campaign, political capital, and now I intend to spend it. It is my style." and "I've got will of the people" which suggests he believes that his election is a broad political mandate. In announcing plans to reform Social Security, medical malpractice, the education system, and the tax code, he said, "I'll reach out to everyone who shares our goals."
