Ohio Recount Request Filed; Florida Troubles, Too

Third party candidates Nader and Badnarik filed for a recount of the Ohio vote on Monday. A spokesman for the state Democratic party says they will join the request, and the incoming president of the Ohio Association of Election Officials has dubbed it "frivolous." MSNBC analyst Howard Fineman has talked to Ohio Secretary of State
Blackwell, according to Keith Olbermann, and said, "There in fact will be a recount. We will be talking about chads once again."
In addition to chads, there have been widely attended public hearings in Ohio where citizens are voicing complaints about long wait times, fewer voting machines than normal, and an inability to get provisional ballots.
Monday's news came on the heels of a report from Berkeley that suggests three Florida counties using electronic voting machines show a significant statistical abberation in the number of votes cast for Bush.
The multivariate analysis showed that voters in Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties delivered between 130,000 and 260,000 more votes to Bush than models projected.
