White House Pass for DC Blogger

Monday March 7, 2005

The NY Times reports that DC blogger  Garrett M. Graf can join the regular press corps for daily White House briefs, making him the firsr blogger to receive White House press credentials. Graf writes Fishbowl, "a gossip blog about Washington, D.C. media," for MediaBistro, which offers services for journalists. He said he was inspired to try to obtain a pass after the recent controversy over James D. Guckert (AKA Jeff Gannon), who wrote for a web site linked to a Republican donor. Graf chronicled his effort on the blog, and was apparently making no progress until mainstream media intervened last week. A nod to MicroPersuasion.
