Novak Walks, Libby Talks

Tuesday August 9, 2005
Robert Novak -- a central character in the drama that is Patrick Fitzgerald's grand jury investigation into L'affaire Plame -- stormed off the CNN set last week, perhaps to avoid being questioned about his role. TPM references a Chicago Times story about the "Who's Who" book on the set; news reports say that Henry had planned to ask about Plame.

On the heels of this development, American Prospect (and others) is reporting that Vice President Cheney's chief of staff "Scooter" Libby met with NYT's Judith Miller (she of incarceration fame) two days after Joseph Wilson's NYT column and specifically "discussed CIA operative Valerie Plame." Miller has refused to testify before the grand jury; two other reporters who spoke with Libby have reportedly testified.
