Stem-Cell Debate Takes a Detour?

embryonic stem cells. If this process can be replicated, and if it technical barriers can be overcome to produce useful stem cells, this could fundamentally change the nature of the debate over the use of stem cells in research; currently, religious objection has made the technique contentious here. Sen. Bill Frist (R-TN) has recently broken with President Bush on this issue, a strategic decision as he positions himself for the 2008 Presidential race.
