Miller and Plame : One More

Sunday October 16, 2005
I may go on "one-moring" for a while. The more I re-read the NY Times articles - the more my blood boils. In the fall of 2003, Judith Miller appears to have deliberately lied to her editor/employer:
Ms. Miller said the subject of Mr. Wilson and his wife had come up in casual conversation with government officials, Mr. Taubman said, but Ms. Miller said "she had not been at the receiving end of a concerted effort, a deliberate organized effort to put out information."
Who among us would characterize a two-hour breakfast meeting with the VP's chief of staff as a "casual conversation"? This is particularly odious because said staffer wanted his rants to be quoted as a "former Hill staffer" and not as a "senior administration official."
