Appeals Exhausted, Crips Founder Executed

Tuesday December 13, 2005
CNN reports that both the Supreme Court and Governor of California refused to halt Tuesday's 12.01 am execution of Crips Gang co-founder Stanley Tookie Williams (51).

In refusing to grant clemency, Governor Schwarzenegger said,"Based on the cumulative weight of the evidence, there is no reason to second-guess the jury's decision of guilt or raise significant doubts or serious reservations about Williams' convictions and death sentence."

Williams was convicted of killing four people in Los Angeles in 1979; he was given a death sentence in 1981.
