2006 Blogging For Progress Scholarship Announced

ProgressiveU.org is now accepting entries for its second Blogging for Progress Scholarship contest, which runs from 31 January - 1 June. The contest encourages current and prospective college students to write about current events, society, the environment, and public policy. The contest is open to legal residents of the United States, age 16 or older as of June 1, 2006, who will be attending a regionally or nationally accredited college, university, or vocational school during the 2006 or 2007 calendar year. The first-place winner will be awarded a $1000 scholarship, and three runners-up will be awarded $300 scholarships. Last year's entrants reached an audience of over half a million people during the contest period. The winners were Matt Ginsberg (CO, 1st prize) and runners-up Tamesha Derico (GA), Sandor Hadik-Barkoczy (CA), and Ian Witzel (IL).
