National Security Strategy: Old and New

In March, Keith Porter (Globalization Guide) provided an overview of the Bush National Security Strategy, an update of the 2002 document, which contained a "clear endorsement of preemptive war and democracy promotion." In response, Democrats in Congress have released The Democratic Plan for National Security, which Porter calls a "serious analysis of the country's security needs and how to be better address them" ... along with to-be-expected political posturing.
