Enron Executives Found Guilty
Thursday May 25, 2006
A Texas jury has found two Enron executives -- Kenneth Lay (64) and Jeff Skilling (52) -- guilty of fraud and conspiracy in one of the largest corporate scandals in US history. The firm was very politically connected; a 2004 e-mail campaign erroneously suggested those connections were closer to Democrats than Republicans.
Deputy Attorney General Paul J. McNulty called this a "tremendous win" for government (ie, for citizens). Sentencing is
scheduled for September.
