Washington State Republican Party Challenges Constitution

At its convention on Saturday, the Washington State Republican Party approved a platform that would not allow citizenship to children of illegal immigrants, according to the Seattle Times. The 14th Amendment to the Constitution, Section 1:
All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

Needless to say the Washington State Republican Party represents an extreme platform that is out of touch with what most Washingtonians believe.

If they think that their deliberations happen in a bubble that doesn’t get reported to the world, they are sadly mistaken. Thank you for pointing this out to your readers.

Isn’t it sad that the 14th ammendment can be used to grant citizenship to children born to illegal aliens, but not to children in the process of being born after being carried in the womb for nine months only to have a scissors plunged into their skulls and their brains sucked out!

Please share a URL where such an act has occurred — both the “scissors” part and the fact that the fetus was viable at nine months.
