Transportation Secretary Mineta Resigns

Friday June 23, 2006
After 5.5 years -- the longest tenure of any Transportation Secretary -- Norman Mineta, 74, has resigned his cabinet position. That leaves only two original cabinet members, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Labor Secretary Elaine Chao. Mineta, a Democrat, has worked in transportation public service for four decades.
