CBS has done it, so has Time. So have at least two political campaigns: Joe Lieberman (D-CT) and Robert Schroeder (R-NJ). The LA Times (Iraq) and Reuters (Lebanon) had it "done to" them.
What is it? Digitally modified photos purporting to be the "real thing."
The modification of a photo of Beirut, burning after an Israeli bombing, got the conservative blogosphere all a flutter. The Iraq composite, on the other hand, was barely noticed in passing. Political campaign slight-of-hand? Completely ignored. Read more.
