McCain Trails Paul In Money Race; Campaign Staff Leaving

Tuesday July 10, 2007
The Libertarian-cum-Republican Ron Paul -- Congressman from Texas District 14 -- is leading Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) in the Republican war chest race for the 2008 Presidential nomination.

Whether McCain fired them or wehther they quit, McCain's campaign is now short four key aides: campaign manager Terry Nelson, chief strategist John Weaver, political director Rob Jesmer and deputy campaign manager Reed Galen. Longtime confident Mark Salter, McCain's chief of staff and co-author of his five books, has left the campaign payroll but remains a volunteer adviser.

The exodus occurred two weeks after campaign disclosure requirements revealed McCain's candidacy has only $2 million in the bank. ("Only" $2 million.) Paul, on the other hand, is a dark horse candidate with $2.4 million in hand, most of it from online donations.

The last gasp of a great American.

He just doesn’t look presidential in the debates. And his position on the immigration bill doomed any dream of being the Republican candidate.

(2) Deborah White says:

His blind support of the Iraq War, and his push for the nonsensical, failed “surge” doomed his presidential ambitions.

As it should. Someone who displays such bad judgment shouldn’t be in the White House. AGAIN. We already made that grave mistake in 2000 & 2004.

Yes, the “dark horse” is very popular in my straw poll.

And McCain looks and acts both tired and out of touch. :-/

Find out why people respect Congressman Ron Paul and are willing to DONATE so much of their hard earned money to him.
Who is Ron Paul?

(6) Claudia Reiher says:

I’ve known about Ron Paul’s legendary congressional record for over a decade now; I was absolutely thrilled to hear that he was running — I had been beginning to feel despair at the candidates who were running in my party. Vote Ron Paul in 2008: Put the Republic back in Republican!

LOL! I do enjoy the enthusiasm of the Ron Paul supporters. :)

Well, McCain wants to make UFC illegal and Ron Paul wants to end the insane War On Drugs.
Not a hard decision for me.
Go Ron Paul!

Only Washington politician insiders and Belthway bureaucrats believe “great compromises” win votes. When victory was declared by President, the war was over. The US military is not for “nation building”. The natives build their own nation with their blood, sweat, money and tears. The US military is for destruction of America’s enenies. Immigration - politicans “majoring in the minors”

It just shows how careless McCain is with his own money. How careful is he with your tax dollars?
