Loose Lips On The Army Web?

According to Wired, analysis of publicly accessible Army websites suggests "official Defense Department websites post far more potentially-harmful [information] than blogs do."

The Army Web Risk Assessment Cell audited the sites for a year - January 2006 to January 2007. There were "at least 1,813 violations of operational security policy on 878 official military websites." On the 594 individual blogs included in the audit, researchers found 28 breaches.

In May, the Pentagon blocked US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan from accessing social networking websites like MySpace and YouTube from military network. The reasons given: bandwidth and "operational security challenge."
