But Fundraising Must Go On ...

Monday August 27, 2007
Election 2008 seems to be underway for Congress as well as the White House. President Bush is in suburban Seattle today to raise money (tickets are $1,000 and $10,000) for Rep. Dave Reichert (R-WA-8).

In counterpoint, Democrat Darcy Burner is holding a virtual town hall meeting on Iraq concurently with the Republican fundraiser (live stream, 3pm Pacific). She is also trying to raise $100,000 for her run against Reichert; as of this writing, she's raised more than $93,000.

The 8th District -- suburbs east of Seattle -- has sent only Republicans to Congress. However Democrat John Kerry took the district in 2004.
