Newsweek, of course, says it's doing this in the spirit of "balance." Kos is publicly very libertarian, has called the CIA (he almost went to work there) a liberal institution and is a Republican-turned-Democrat. His activism began in 2002. Rove is a life-long Republican operative whose activism began in college.
