Immigration Fence Delayed; Chertoff About-Face

Thursday February 28, 2008
Earlier, I dutifully reported that the virtual fence in Arizona was a "go" ... but that news was premature. Now we know that the fence will be delayed up to three years.

This is in direct contrast to what Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said on Friday.

We have spent $20 million on a fence. And, according to the Washington Times, DHS "never consulted with the field agents who will use the system before it was installed." Moreover, there is no way to measure effectiveness.

Your tax money at work, fighting an emotionally-created "problem" with thick smoke and expensive mirrors.

That you describe illegal immigration as an emotionally-created “problem” tells me a lot about where you live, and how little you read.
