A perfect photo, Kathy.

I planned on watching her speak, I wanted to hear her speak, but there was this weird mix of sadness and anger that kept me from surfing over to C-SPAN. I read the text and one day I might see it on YouTube.

What bugged me in reading some of the blogosphere commentary was that people were watching the speech like they watch a car wreck on the highway. Half were rooting for her to flip the bird at Senator Obama, and the other half were deathly afraid she’d do something to ruin his campaign. After all, for two years the media has stuck to its storyline that the Clinton’s are greedy, crooked, vindictive, crooked, lying bastards who are motivated only by their lust for power and their belief that they are the rightful rulers, entitled to their throne blah blah blah.

With all that crap in the atmosphere, it’s no wonder that they’d be surprised by her professionalism, her understanding of the big picture, and her commitment to a party she’s been working with and for for all her adult life.

Thank you. The image touched me deeply when I found it early evening … and there was no image from the actual speech that touched me in the same way when I was surfing Getty Images again before midnight.

I had very mixed feelings about her campaign. I truly think the country needs something other than the Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton pattern that would have resulted from a win. But as a woman … well, my heart and my head did battle, until the very end.

The YouTube clip is not the entire speech - it’s not even the part I wanted to hear. When I find a full clip, I’ll change the link.

I’ve not read the blogosphere or MSM in any depth. I’m not happy with the narrative (we’re in agreement there), just as I’m not happy with the narrative the MSM has adopted for Obama. It’s interesting watching the MSM try to backpedal from earlier, more positive, narratives for McCain.

I saw a poll on Monday (I think it was Monday) where “none of the above” took more than a quarter of the votes in a “who would you vote for…” when the choices were McCain, Obama or “someone else.”
