McCain Congratulates Obama - Ad

Tonight the McCain campaign is airing a 30 second ad -- on cable and in key states -- congratulating Sen. Barack Obama on his nomination as the Democratic presidential candidate. His acceptance speech Thursday fell on the 45th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech.

Ad Script (Sen. John McCain looking straight into the camera):

Senator Obama, this is truly a good day for America. You know, too often the achievements of our opponents go unnoticed. So I wanted to stop and say: Congratulations. How perfect that your nomination would come on this historic day. Tomorrow, we'll be back at it. But tonight, Senator, job well done.

Obama's speech was scheduled between 10 and 11 p.m Eastern. The Obama campaign said that they would do something similar for McCain next week.
