A turkey named Pumpkin stands in the Rose Garden before U.S. President George W. Bush granted it a pardon during the annual White House Turkey Presidential Pardon presentation in the Rose Garden at the White House 26 November 2008. Later today Pumpkin will be flown to Disneyland and be an honorary grand marshal of Disney's Thanksgiving Day Parade in California. The annual White House tradition began when President Harry S. Truman first pardoned a bird in 1947.
