Ron Paul on the Stimulus Package

From Kathy Gill, About.com GuideJanuary 28, 2009

Follow me on:

It feels like a "give 'em hell, Harry" kind of column. Except, of course, his name is Ron Paul. I wonder how many fiscally conservative Democrats and Republicans will take heed?
This week the House is expected to pass an $825 billion economic stimulus package... As before, a sense of urgency and impending doom is being used to extract mountains of money from Congress with minimal debate. So much for change. This is déjà vu. We are again being promised that its passage will help employment, help homeowners, help the environment, etc. These promises are worthless. This time around especially, Congress should know better than to pass anything of this magnitude without first reading the fine print...

There is a lot of stimulus and growth in this bill – that is, of government.

Yes Ron Paul is correct again, and as usual about the alleged stimulas package, it is really to bad for our nation that the rest of Congress does not have the intelligence to listen to a man that has studied economocs for many years and understands how the economic system works and how the current system is fatally flawed.

Yes, as usual Ron Paul is correct again about the alleged stimulas package that Congress is about to pass. Unfortunately tho, the rest of Congress doesn’t have the intelligence to listen to a man within their own ranks that understands economics, and understands that the current economic system is flawed and knows how to fix the entire system to make it work for the entire nation.

It’s a shame that Ron Paul’s fellow Congressmen, who have got to realize that Dr. Paul knows what he is talking about, can not muster up the balls to stand with Dr. Paul and deny the banker’s,lobbiests, and the Federal reserve ‘their’ bailout money. This money will do nothing for the people. This fact was proven with the last bailout. The Federal Reserve will make plenty of money from the long term interest on such astronomical sums of money, but hey that’s evidently their job. No body really even knows where all that money went, besides padding the pockets of some CEO’s and perhaps covering the expenses of AIG’s party habits. We need a whole Government full of Ron Pauls that take their jobs seriously and care about America. What sad times we live in. Our forefather’s would hang their heads in shame and dispair to know how we have allowed our Government to run over us as we have. We were given the tools to overthrow the corrupt officials. Why question, is “Why haven’t we?”.

Our country missed out when they didn’t elect Ron Paul. He’s the only guy with the strength of character, good heart and knowledge to know what to do in this crisis. Please Dr. Paul run again in 4 years…next time you will win!!! The country will be ready for you then because it will be a mess. We love you Dr. Paul!

If the “Beltway” stood behind Ron Paul, they would mostly end up unemployed or incarcerated for what they have perpetrated in Washington and done to all Americans. Ron Paul represents a truth we don’t seem ready to face, but we will face it anyway, the HARD way. It’s a shame that such a modernistic and educated country can not pay attention to its elected leaders long enough to see the absolute corruption taking place. Perhaps there is too much corruption in most Americans to be brave enough to face Washington’s scandalous behavior. Maybe it’s “too close to home”. Fiscally responsible? Accountable? Resolute? Moral? The failings of our leaders seem to mirror the failings of our society, which would be you and I. How could we possibly recognize a great leader such as Ron Paul when we cannot even face our own deluded behavior? We elected Barack Obama to bail our own sorry butts out of our own bad decisions, based on greed and selfishness. I think we need to fail so we can feel some real pain, and perhaps on the flip side we’ll be a little wiser, not so selectively ignorant. Ron Paul is my President .

In an age of unrivalled Newspeak, Ron Paul still tells the truth. If you choose not to listen, you deserve what you will get — penury and slavery.

Thanks, folks — I don’t always agree with Ron Paul but I do on this issue.

Some of these appropriations are probably in the bill so that they can be deleted in the name of compromise. That’s me being cynical.

(13) Island Canuck says:

America is ready for truth but is not intelligent enough to grasp Ron Paul or to even understand where he is coming from. He has something that no other Presidential Candidate has ever had……”POSITIVE SENSE”. Alot of it!!! His change would be alot more effective than the change Obama is implying that he will bring. He will bring about change for good but it will be short term…..long term effects will be much more devastating. Just as with any Country if your education is not up to par you cannot expect your citizens to be able to make sound decisions. America needs to stop blaming Bush and his administration…….why u ask? cuz you voted them in …..twice. so get a mirror and cope with it.

Ron Paul says explicitly that politician spending is never as effective as market driven investment. He’s right – the question is, what does the market invest in?
I’m curious about http:// the prosperity mandate.org – it seems to be a market driven mechanism that converts net worth into liquidity, circulating money back into the economy. because it is market driven, it would work – certainly better than this stimulus package. check it out-
