As expected, the U.S. Senate will vote on an economic "stimulus" package on Tuesday, but this package differs significantly from the
House bill passed at the end of January. On Monday, the Senate voted 61-36 on a measure which would have kept the bill on the
filibuster back-burner had it failed.
Three Republicans broke rank and voted with the majority party: Sen. Susan Collins (ME), Sen. Olympia Snowe (ME) and Sen. Arlen Specter (PA).
Assuming the bill clears the Senate, the next step is the conference committee, to resolve differences with the House bill.

UNITED WE STAND people. hurry up and remember before we fall!
Thinking twice before spending $1,000,000,000,000 is simply responsible? It is exactly that type of “spend first ask questions later” thought process that got us into this mess. We should not “hurry up”… we should “slow down”.
There are severe problems with this stimulus package – despite President Obama’s rosy explication.
