Cybersecurity Head Resigns Abruptly
U.S. cybersecurity chief Amit Yoran gave the White House one day's notice when he resigned effective Thursday. A former Symantec employee, he had held the position for a year and was reportedly frustrated with the (low) priority being placed on computer security by Homeland Security. Industry officials have pushed for the number-three position in HS to be elevated to a level below Tom Ridge.
