Brief Bio: John McCain - born in the Panama Canal -
graduated from the Naval Academy in 1958
and became a combat pilot in Vietnam. After being
shot down in 1967, he was a POW for five and half years.
In 1982, he was elected to the House of Representatives,
representing Arizona. In 1986, he replaced Sen. Barry
Goldwater. He ran an unsuccessful campaign for
president in 2000. He and his wife, Cindy, live in Phoenix;
they have seven children.
