The race for the Presidential nomination stretches almost from the Atlantic to the Pacific on Saturday, as Republicans vote in the South Carolina primary and both parties caucus in Nevada. The Democrats hold their SC primary next Saturday. See the primary calendar.
The Republican race lacks a clear front runner: there have been four contests and three different winners (Mike Huckabee, John McCain, Mitt Romney). The Democratic race has Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama neck-and-neck and slightly ahead of John Edwards, after only two contests.
Who do you think will win? Who are you pulling for?

Yucca-Yucca, Yuk-Yuk
The candidates, all of them, while in Nevada of course, bad mouthed and swore life-long opposition to the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste storage facility. Edwards, who voted for it — twice — now says he’ll not only oppose ever using it, he’ll prevent the construction any more nuclear power plants. So much for fighting greenhouse gases, huh Johnny? Of course, all the rest of them, Republican and Democrat, were right there with him, slamming something that, while repugnant and now unstoppable, is thirty years of study and billions of our dollars down the “I got your stinking states’ rights right here,” road.
Let’s see… While in Iowa, they all pledged to make the farmers rich by turning their corn into ethanol. In Michigan, they vowed to resurrect the auto industry. When they swing through California, I expect to hear promises of turning back floods and blowing out wildfires with their icy breath.
Still strongly in support of none of them,
Robert
Thanks, Robert! Great perspective … so much for “change”, eh? Sounds exactly like politics-as-usual. :-/
