Spitzer Resigns; Paterson Makes History

Eliot Spitzer (D) has resigned as governor of New York, effective Monday, a move that will elevate Lt. Gov. David A. Paterson to a place in history: the first black governor of New York and only the third black governor in the country since Reconstruction. More from the NY Times.
