Ron Paul's Supporters: Down But Not Out
Monday May 12, 2008
As noted here last week, the Democratic Party isn't alone in failing to anoint a consensus candidate as the primary race comes to an end. The Republican Party, not split asunder as the Democrats are, also faces factions. Ron Paul supporters have convention mischief in mind, and the conservative evangelical based of the party is also unhappy with assumed nominee Sen. John McCain.

I wonder how good or bad for McCain any revival of Ron Paul candidacy in the media would be? I mean, would it make Reps rally on him or give an excuse to those against him to vote for Paul in defiance? Not that it would change much the end result, I know, but it is tactically interesting to see if the Republican party has an interest in letting Ron Paul express himself more or in suppressing him.
The Party will continue to ignore Ron Paul influenced rhetoric. The Media and the Party continue to paint us as nut-jobs by daring to suggest the Federal Government has over-reached it’s authority granted in the Constitution.

The national GOP is pretty dumb, the message we’re (and the message of a likely Obama win) sending isn’t getting through. So get involved in your local GOP. I have found my local GOP to be surprisingly more in-line with Paulian views than I expected. Plus there are lots of local government openings and all the Party cares about is filling those slots. It’s time for Paul devotees to take em.
Thanks, everyone, for the comments. The RNC might still have some fireworks!
