Wordless Wednesday: Unemployed

Wednesday November 19, 2008

General Motors auto worker in Moraine, a suburb of Dayton, Ohio, holds a packet of information during a seminar about finding a new job. The tiny town of Moraine is bracing as General Motors prepares to shut their sport-utility vehicle plant two days before Christmas this year, abandoning a massive factory on a site that has employed thousands of workers for decades. Some things to read or watch on our request for funds to support our automotive industry:

Bob Nardelli’s Senate/House written testimony at http://blog.chryslerllc.com/blog.do?id=537&p=entry

Mark Phelan’s article, “6 myths about the Detroit 3,” in the Detroit Free Press at http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2008811170379

and a Chrysler video “Straight Talk About Assistance” at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPODSNAbkOU

Thanks. Patti, Chrysler

(2) Frank Midddleton says:

Americans

The Big Three should not be bailed out. Let them go into chapter 11 and remove both corporate tax and winfall tax for three years.

Force re-negotiation of all associated contracts.

Get rid of all gov restrictions concerning vehicle and engine design. The Auto manufacturers build cars, the government screws up cars and businesses of all kinds.

Tar and Feather Congress and run them out of town on appropriate rails.

The above steps will cure vertually all problems associate with our economy.
