Brief Bio:
Barack Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961, making him
the youngest candidate in the race. His father was from Kenya.
Obama graduated from Columbia University in 1983, and he
moved to Chicago in 1985. He received his law degree from Harvard in 1991,
where he was the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review.
He served in the Illinois state senate for eight years.
In 2004, he became the third African American since Reconstruction to be elected to the U.S. Senate.
